>Panini is a French magazine publisher, most active in Europe and South America. Amongst many licenses are Marvel Comics which lets them republish any Marvel comic book series except for the Fantastic Four.
And they are celebrating twenty years of acquiring that license with an exhibition being held at the upcoming Angoulême Festival at the end of January, Le French Touche De Marvel, celebrating French creators working on Marvel comic books.
The festival celebrates the Marvel art of Moebius, Olivier Coipel, Jean Frisano, Philippe Buchet, Claire Wendling, Philippe Briones and Paul Renaud, as well as major French/Belgian comic book artists doing original takes on Marvel characters including Bastien Vives (image above) Penelope Bagieu, Lewis Trondheim, Boulet and more.
But someone they have missed out is Marvel artist Stephanie Hans. She writes,
